Baby Oil is frequently used for a sensual massage. It is economic, and readily available at most stores in South Africa.
Is Baby Oil good for a sensual massage?
You can best answer that question yourself, once you have a little more information.
Baby Oil is a white mineral oil bend. A mineral oil is a hydrocarbon compound also known as paraffin oil or liquid petrolatum, a by-product from the distillation of crude oil into various compounds. The difference between a white mineral oil and a baby oil, is a fragrance oil, which has been added to the baby oil.
In other words, you can take a highly refined, cosmetic (or pharmaceutical grade) grade paraffin oil and add a fragrance of your choice. And Voilà: You have Baby Oil.
Benefits of Baby Oil
The benefit of the white mineral oil, and therefore Baby Oil, is that it is clear. It should not stain your sheets or towels. If there is a stain, it is usually from the added fragrance or perfume oil.
Baby Oil is stable under room temperature conditions. It will not spoil.
Baby Oil is cheap and easy to find.
Detriments of a Baby Oil
Even though the word 'Baby' implies love and caring, marketing cannot change the fundamentals. Most Baby Oils like Johnson's Baby Oil or Clicks Baby Oil are not organic. They are a synthetic, petroleum based product.
A Better Sensual Massage Oil
I would suggest that you consider a natural, plant based oil for your sensual massage. A plant based oil is healthier for your skin, as it is organic.
Detriments of a natural plant based Massage Oila
The primary downside of a plant based massage oil is that it is not stable. It will oxidize when exposed to the air and degrade when exposed to light. This is why the majority of olive oils are sold in dark bottles or metal cans.
You also have the risk of staining sheets and towels, as plant based oils are rarely clear or transparent.
My Massage Oil Solution
Buy or make your own plant based massage oil. This massage oil will spoil quicker. Either make smaller batches or perform more sensual massages. ;-)
